During the process of setting the art direction for this Raya collection, the color green started the process. I thought, how do I use the color green while still be able to maintain the brand’s identity. Hill to Street started it’s brand focusing on Tribal designs. When I think of tribal, I think nature. Hence, I decided to use tropical leafs that combines both the element of green and tribal together. The challenge I faced was collecting these leafs and making sure they stay fresh through the shoot. The lesson I learned was to collect them in the morning, as some leafs will dry over night.
